We wish to give you advance notice of our intention to conduct The Morris 100 Rally at Canberra from Friday 19th April 2013 to Monday 22nd April 2013. The Morris 100 Rally will celebrate the centenary of the production of the First Morris Car in 1913. It is our pleasure to invite your club ad its members to participate.

The Morris Mini 1959 - 2000

01/06/2010

The Morris Minor was produced by the Morris Motor Company in two versions. From 1928 to 1932 the cars had an 847 cc single overhead camshaft engine. This was then replaced by a more conventional side valve unit of the same capacity until production ended in 1934. 39,087 of the overhead camshaft type and 47,231 of the side valve version were made. Although the companys main assembly plant was at Cowley,

outside Oxford, the new car was not designed there. The chassis and running gear were designed at one of the companys subsidiaries, EG Wrigley, a Birmingham based gearbox maker who had been bought out of receivership and renamed Morris Commercial Cars. read more

18th Morris Register National Rally
Port Pirie, South Australia

01/05/2010

The Morris Register of South Australia will be hosting the 18th National Rally at Port Pirie, South Australia in 2012.
Located on the eastern shore of Spencer Gulf 229 km north of Adelaide, Port Pirie is one of South Australia’s best kept secrets, just a short detour from National Highway One, nestled at the base of the picturesque Southern Flinders Ranges.

Prior to European settlement, the location that became Port Pirie was occupied by the indigenous tribe of Nukunu. Originally known by the Aboriginal name of 'Tarparrie', which is suspected to mean "Muddy Creek". The first European to see the location was Matthew Flinders in 1802 as he explored the Spencer Gulf by boat. The first land discovery by settlers of the location was by the explorer Edward Eyre who explored regions around Port Augusta. John Horrocks also discovered a pass through the Flinders Ranges to the coast, now named Horrock Pass. read more
